A Newport Council employee who helps ring in more than £400m a year for the Welsh economy has received a ringing endorsement at a glittering annual award ceremony at Cardiff's City Hall.
Helen Gunter walked away with one the top individual prizes at the Welsh Contact Centre Awards 2008 for the difference she makes in powering one of Newport's most important employment sectors.
The highlight of the awards was a surprise performance by X Factor star Rhydian Roberts.

Following a nomination from her peers, Helen pushed all the right buttons for the judges win the prestigious award for Best Manager of a team under 100. She took to the stage in front of 450 fellow contact centre employees to collect her award.
Sandra Busby, director of the Wales Contact Centre Forum Ltd. said: "Helen is the perfect example of the hard work and dedication that characterises the vibrant contact centre industry in Wales.
"The Welsh Contact Centre Awards play a massive role in helping to raise the profile of the industry and provide deserved recognition of the superb work being carried out across the country."
The contact centre industry employs some 28,000 people at operations in 29 towns and cities across the country. The sector has been one of the success stories of an evolving modern day Wales and has seen unprecedented growth in the past five years.
