Designers score a hat-trick
Newport-based Autografik Design has a triple cause for celebration. After three award-filled years of trading, the company has secured places on design and print frameworks for three separate local authorities.
Directors Russell Britton and Jon Farley have joined an elite list of expert designers by securing their places in Newport, North Wales and Blaenau Gwent.
As well as boosting their credibility in the private sector, the frameworks put them in touch with millions of pounds worth of contracts every year.
"From the councils' point of view, the frameworks give a level playing field for contractors and suppliers," said Jon. "It pre-selects suppliers to bid for valuable contracts, and guarantees quality and efficiency for public sector organisations."
Russell said: "Obviously, different projects have different needs, and we're one of many diverse companies that were ultimately chosen. But each opportunity is posted to everyone on the list."
Autografik achieved their first tender success with the Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council framework, having to overcome a common hurdle for first-time bidders.
"We're a young company and most successful bidders are more established," said Jon. "So we needed advice on how best to pitch ourselves to the public sector."
That's when the company got in touch with supplier champion Sean Hamill, from the Local Supplier Development Project - and it turned out to be a very important step forward.
Autografik have gone on to win places on the Newport City Council and North Wales frameworks.
