Business potential and increasing demand have resulted in the Magic Wardrobe relocating to new premises at Tredegar Street, Risca.
The business, established in 2002, is owned and managed by Darren Powell and specialises in the sale and hire of fancy dress and party costumes. With more than 2,000 costumes on site, the Magic Wardrobe has something for everyone and every occasion.
Darren Powell said: "After leasing a property for five years, I felt it was finally time to put further investment into the venture and purchase a property to accommodate the growth of the business. Business is brisk, as more and more people want to make an effort or create a theme for a special occasion.
"The most common requests are still for 60s, 70s and 80s outfits which always look good at any party, but with more than 2,000 costumes we can always find something to suit all tastes."
Max Woodman, Barclays local business manager for Risca, said: "By using our knowledge and experience within the local business market, Barclays has been able to support Magic Wardrobe financially and professionally throughout its expansion. As champions of local business it is essential that we support businesses such as Magic Wardrobe."
Mr Powell said: "Moving to our new premises will provide the base camp we require to grow our business. The new premises will provide additional storage and display space and meet the increasing demand for our products.
"The best bit about running your own business is the ability to make your own decisions whether they turn out to be correct or not. The worst thing must be the time constraints and the lack of holidays but it is certainly a decision I do not regret."
