Firm celebrates by helping runner

Newport-based Kymin Financial Services are celebrating 15 years in business by going that extra mile for St David's Foundation.

Established in 1993, under the leadership of managing director, Gerald Davies, Kymin has expanded over the years, and have decided to celebrate the anniversary by sponsoring one of their client's participation in the 2008 New York Marathon.

The client, Sarah Driscoll, is running to raise funds for Newport's St David's Foundation Hospice Care. With a strong belief in charitable support and social responsibility, Kymin felt that this was an ideal way of celebrating their anniversary and raising funds for their chosen charity.

Kris Broome, director of fundraising at St David's, said "Sarah running a marathon in aid of St David's with the courage and determination that this takes is wonderful. However Sarah running the New York marathon has created additional interest, which we hope will result in even more funds being raised. Kymin's sponsorship has helped to make this possible."

Named after the hill overlooking Monmouth, the town where Kymin was first established, the head office is now in Newport, and there is also a branch in Cardiff. The team has grown four times over since the company's inception, working with individual personal clients and a diverse range of companies.

Company secretary Robin Hall said: "I am delighted we are supporting Sarah as part of our anniversary celebrations. We are going to be marking this special year in several different ways, including donating £15 to St David's for each delegate who attends the various seminars in our 2008 programme. We are also looking at events which will be fun and very different from your usual fund raising and anniversary celebration activities."
