Your chance to mix with the stars of Welsh rugby success

The stars of Wales' 2005 and 2008 Grand Slam winning teams have been called up for a night of rugby celebration in Newport.

A Grand Slam Ball is being staged on May 16 at the Holiday Inn, Newport, which will give Welsh rugby fans the chance to celebrate the country's achievements on the field, alongside 15 of the game's favourite faces.

Guests of honour are expected to include Wales Grand Slam winning captain Ryan Jones, who will also be toasting the success of the Ospreys lifting of the EDF Energy Cup, record Welsh try scorer Shane Williams, man of the moment James Hook and in-form lock Ian Gough.

Completing the line up are Newport Gwent Dragons' front row forward Rhys Thomas who made his mark against Italy, and Wales' kicking coach and former world record points scorer Neil Jenkins.

During the evening there will be a question-and-answer session, a fund-raising raffle and an auction of sporting memorabilia, with proceeds being shared with children's charity The Sparkle Appeal and St Anne's Hospice.

Expected to attract the most interest and bids on the night is the star prize of a 30 minute ride in a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, driven by Shane Williams, donated by Amante9.
