In a rare deal George Wimpey Homes and Newport-based George Street Furnishers have joined forces offering buyers of hundreds of apartments and homes in Newport and Cardiff discounted deals on quality furniture.

The buy an apartment and then let an expert designer furnish it at your discretion', is believed to be a first for Wales.

A spokesman for GSF said: "There will be three designer packages - an investor-starter pack through to a middle and a top range - which will help the apartment buyer save time and money by using this service.

"The packages will give the apartment owner the flexibility of changing items in the package if needed."

The arrangement with Wimpey, now one of the largest house builders in the world, will give hundreds of new homeowners at City Vizion in Rodney Parade a rare chance to personalise their home before they move in.

A delighted Martyn Sheppard, GSF's managing director, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for us. It means the company will be supplying stylish 21st-century quality furniture at all levels."
